I learned to inkle weave when I was in fourth grade. My Dad made me a loom, which I still have and love. I have woven miles of narrow wares. A while ago I put together a pattern book of all of the pieces I haveĀ made. I made it like a baby cloth book with pages out of felt. I have stitched the samples to the pages and I still add to it every once in awhile. I use it like a pattern book, because I can read a piece of plain weaving easier than looking it up in a book. The book is also a fiber study, as I have several different types of yarn used as warp. I most often use pearle cotton, due to cost and availability. I have started to collect linen and silk. I love the way silk feels, but it isĀ almost be out of my Anglo-Saxon budget.
